Rags & hubby suceed at last!

Best of all today the toilet is fixed and fitted with no leaks and in full working order!
Rags came around agin this SAturady to solve the problem with the leak on the downstarirs toilet that tey fitted. I think he must have thouhgt it was his new Saturady job or 'second' home as he said. Anyway t last and I think Rags and his family will be glad too - as jobs back at his house got delayed his daughters TV didn't get put up as quickly she had to wait a week. He has been so brilliant and given up three Saturady mornings.

Secondly - the step unit is now in the loft
While waiting for Rags to come over hubby dismantlesd the step unit to take up the loft so he can have a corner desk in the study now he worls from home at least three days a week. And assembled it back up in the loft and I have piut it in postiton so I can now carry on twith the clearing and organising the loft.

I had a customer bring bridsmaids dresses over just for for to let her know if the alterations could be made to made to them. No problem, so hopefully she will ring me closer the the wedding day so the girls can have fitting and the alterations made to make them fit just perfect. The wedding is 30th July so I'm hoping she will ring me begin of JUne to make an appointment.

The downstairs toilet is coming along, in the afternoon hubby and I worked together and put the tiles on the shelf and the wooden 'boarder' on the wall. Its coming along and is starting to look really nice.

The sewing I did today was make 'yo-yos' as my scraps bin that I brought from Ikea is overflowing!! So I must go throught it and get rid of any pieces that are of really no use as I'm sure thet MUST be some. I will have to strta sewing in my sleep! - as I want to get so much done and I throw away so little fabric I try and make use of every little bit.

Yesterday while looking on how to use a beading foot I came across the Janome overlocker 1200D so I have added that to my wish list - I may be lucky... I hope the plate that I ordered for my overlocker that I have turns up Monday and I do hope that it solves the problems with it not sewing properly as one of the prones had broken off.

Overall the day has been fantasic and achieved so much - including washinh up to date and ironing as well louge dusted and sewing room general tidy. Hubby ordered his new desk and drawer unit.

Good and Bad

Today hubby working from home so once again a nice lazy start to the day.

I begin first cleaning the bathroom then onto to clearing more in the loft. At last now I have at least some organisation to it but still a long way to go. I have made enough space for the step unit from the study to go up there so I will have great place to store the craft things I do not use so often.

In the evening we went to Ikea and got some boxes for CDs and some other storage boxes (magazines and this time I could not resist getting the bin for my scraps.

The bad side to the day was my overlocker was not sewing correctly I finally worked it out and have ordered a new needle plate, hopefully that will arrives quickly and will solve the problem, if not I shall have to get it serviced but I am almost sure that's the problem as one of the prongs has broken off.

So my challenge has been slowed down a bit but while waiting I shall cut out and machine as far as I can.

A great day today a nice lie in until 7:15 enjoyed coffee in bed as hubby is working from home today.

Chores continues I moved all the rubbish out a the bins are been collected today. There was certainly a whole load of black bags and an old printer from where I have been clearing out the loft. It is starting to look better but still a lot to do to get it totally sorted. I have a lot of items to write up and put on Ebay, hoping for a cheap list day.

Cut out more fabric - dresses today and started sewing up the dresses and t-shirts.

Cooked a fantastic meal today and amazingly it was from the slimming world book which sometimes the meals can be a bit bland but this was really tasty. It was Meatloaf with spinach and pepper stuffing pg82 - although I did not use the spinach, the wine I used was Sainsburys Muscat de St Jean de Minervois ( Sweet wine - honeyed with apricots and mandarin oranges). The dessert was chunky bread pudding I used Creme fraiche instead of fromage frais as when I went to the fridge I didn't have fromage frais but it tasted fantastic.

My sewing challenge continues

I managed to sew up all the trousers I cut out yesterday and made more progress with the t-shirts to go with the trousers. I have started using my industrial machine and its such a dream, not only is it faster but it takes me back to my tailoring days and I'm getting the items sewn up quickly.

Lunchtime had a break and went to Topps tiles to collect the floor tiles we ordered for the downstairs toilet. Still need to decide on a colour scheme and shelf tiles- hubby pointed out some nice mosaics in Topps Tiles which I quite liked. After we collected the tiles hubby treated me to Nandos.

It has been so nice this week I have had a lie in everyday as hubby has been working from home because of the snow and I will NOT drive in it, hubby has been fantastic he has taken the girls to school and picked them up and for his reward i have cooked him scrumptious meals which he (and the rest of the family) have really enjoyed. The meals have been recipes from Jamie Oliver - Ministry of Food.

Tidy up day tomorrow but my sewing room will be calling out for me.

Sewing continues...

Dolls clothes making continues and the fabrics are slowly decreasing but I am finally realizing just HOW MUCH fabric I have stored away because as shelf space appears I reload it up with fabric stored in bags, underdesk and it still looks overloaded in my room so as for my challenge I really think I didn't own up to the amount I had but I'm still giving it my best but WHERE can I buy some time I need 48 hours in a day. I will certainly have loads to sell on Ebay come Christmas and hopefully finally this year do a school craft fair.

I'm blogging late as I cut out five pieces of fabric ...dolls trousers and started making them up too.

The snow is slowly melting hopefully by the weekend it will all be gone.

What a Day!

Day started off leisurely food shopping at Sainsbury, the bill has come down quite a bit since doing the menu/meal plans which is fantastic every little helps with the currant economic situation.

On to Bath Store because of the hairline crack in the cistern which was sorted no problem, while waiting though enjoyed a chocolate from the tray that was on the desk and helped ourselves to a couple of Costa vouchers buy one get one free! So enjoyed a coffee before going home not bad for two coffee for £2.50 it was really busy in then just about managed to get a couple of seats!!

Back home to put ll the shopping away and ice the cake that we brought for dad, quite enjoyed it once I got the hang of it again as I haven't iced a cake for quite a while now but I hope this year to start baking and icing cakes again.Mum arrived just as Bex left and Mills arrived just shortly after. We had a lovely evening mum and dad stayed until 9:30pm

Mum and dad were coming over for tea, Hubby had to go and collect Mills form mum-in-laws, Bex friend was taking her to the party and hubby was collecting them Oh no SNOW! He did not have a pleasant drive home he skidded a couple of times. :(

It snowed this evening so was very worried about mum and dad driving back but they arrived home safely and mum heard the commotion going on there was a leak, which Bex noticed coming through into the kitchen !! Hubby was running his bath, the joint had come lose, so with that fixed hubby carried on running his bath.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed playing in the snow this evening out the front.

These photos are taken in the back garden...notice the old loo which hubby will be taking to the tip next weekend I hope.
